Wath is beeGUI
beeGUI is a 32-bit Windows version of the Bee archiver - a powerful tool which allows you to create, manage and control archive files.
There are two versions of Bee for Windows:
- Version with graphical user interface - beeGUI.exe;
- Command line console (text mode) version - bee.exe.
beeGUI features
- Highly sophisticated, original compression algorithm;
- Solid archiving, which can raise compression ratio by 10% - 50% over more common methods, particularly when packing a large number of small, similar files;
beeGUI limitations
The number of files, which can be added to an archive, depends upon the amount of available memory and the length of file names.
The size of a bee archive is limited to 2 GB.
Console Bee version
Additionally to beeGUI you will find, in the distributive, the file bee.exe. It is also a 32-bit Bee version for Windows.
It is useful to call console Bee from BAT and CMD files, to use it at the DOS prompt and so on.
It supports a larger number of command line switches and commands when compared with beeGUI.
You should read Usage.txt file for a detailed description of all console Bee features.
